Large Burr Walnut Extending Dining Table

A handsome, generously proportioned, and superior quality Edwardian extending walnut dining table with wind-out mechanism, in the Queen Anne or early Georgian manner. The top is veneered in decoratively grained burr walnut with a cross band, and has three removable loose leaves with burr walnut veneered aprons. The table is raised on four bold cabriole legs terminating in hoof feet.
This table will seat up to 12 people, and would serve equally well as a dining or boardroom table.
Length (closed) 72” (183cm) Length (extended) 126” (320cm) Width 45” (114cm) Height (overall) 30” (76cm) Height (to underside of aprons) 24 ½ ” (62cm)
Condition & Details of Restoration:
This table is in original structural condition and is completely sound. The polish has been re-finished, some time ago, to a high standard. One end of the table has faded slightly more than the other end, but is not markedly different. Should this present a worry we would be happy to re-polish the top, but to our taste it would be unnecessary. There are some minor marks under the polish and chips to the veneer where the leaves join the detail photograph shows the worst of these.
