A huge and amazing vintage leather bound chess board with carved wooden figures, probably the most unusual chess set you will see! This was most likely made in continental Europe, it dates from around the 1960’s.

The board is leather bound and studded, it flips open to reveal felt lined storage for the pieces. The pieces are all hand carved in solid wood and hand painted. They are incredibly quirky and unusual, each has its own different facial expression.

This is very large and extremely well made. The condition is very good for its age, the leather on the board has some minor wear and scuffs, with a beautiful patina. The pieces are all there, with no damage.
