A bold and impressive mid-Victorian library table of large proportions, Of excellent construction in solid walnut with attractive walnut veneers to the top. The rectangular top is fitted with a sumptuous black leather writing surface, decorated with gilt tooling to the edges. This table has a pair of long drawers (opposed by dummy drawers to the rear). The freeze is decorated with applied carved motifs. The base of this table is magnificent. It is profusely decorated with crisply carved floral detailing of the highest order. The pair of "x-frame" ends are united by an under-stretcher giving strength and stability. The quality of the carvings is quite remarkable. We have had this wonderful table sympathetically repolsihed and waxed, it has a great colour and patina. It is now offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight int the home.
