Large 1910 Art Noveau Stick Stand / Log Basket Brass Art Noveau Stick Stand %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A really unusual and attractive very large brass stick/umbrella stand. The size is such that is could be equally well used as a very distinctive log basket!

Provenance - We can date this to precisely 1910. Bought from a house where the seller's grandfather had purchased this from new in that year!

Standing ~ 750mm high, the brass body is wonderfully decorated with a very elegant tall Art Noveau basket of fruits surrounded by stylised foliage, pine cones and scrolls within a large hammered oval panel. Similar foliate decoration to the top.

Oval shaped body large enough to accommodate a plethora of sticks and umbrellas, or a good quantity of logs.

Never seen one as nice as this. Would look wonderful in either a period or contemporary setting!
