A very attractive 18th century Queen Anne period four-panel chest of large proportions, with carved initials 'W.V' and date '1702'.

The chest is of lovely proportions being long yet narrow, with four stile legs, original moulded four panel top and front, with finely finely carved detail. The chest opens on original iron hoop hinges to reveal a tidy interior. There are signs of wear commensurate with age, namely evidence of historic woodworm to areas at the back and a historic repair to the right rear leg.

A very attractive and practical piece.
