A pseudonym or alias is a fictitious name that a person or group assumes for a particular purpose, which differs from their original or true name. This also differs from a new name that entirely or legally replaces an individual's own.
-
Artists often used multiple pseudonym’s when producing and replicating multiple works of the same subject and would not want to have their works undervalued due to mass numbers of paintings in circulation.
-
The painting depicts a display of grapes, vine leaves and a peach in a gilded tazza, alongside a similar candlestick and a matching goblet.
These items are sitting on a carved table partially draped with a blue cloth.
-
ABOUT THE ARTIST
