John Fisher 'Tavern' Wall Clock

A good mahogany 'Tavern' style wall antique clock by John Fisher of Preston (Lancs) 1742-1795.
This unusual piece has a 14" decorated brass dial which is highly engraved and has corner spandrels. The dial has both Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numbers for the minutes. The five-day mechanical clock movement has been fully serviced and is in full working condition. The case is made of solid mahogany with brass fittings throughout. It may have been shortened at some point in it's history. NB: Due its weight this clock will require a couple of substantial wall fixings to ensure it is safely mounted on the wall.
Width: 51cm / 20''
Height: 160cm / 63''
Depth: 25cm / 9.75''
