John Farnworth of Mansfield
A longcase clock by John Farnworth of Mansfield . This simple 30 hour cottage antique clock in Oak case is in very good condition having been serviced in July 09 .
The chain driven movement with countwheel striking has a brass silverd dial and original blued steel hands .In very good working order.
The case is also in very good condition and is a rich oak colour . The case with flat top and long trunk door has fruit wood pilasters to the hood and attractive mouldings .There is a mahogany cross banded freeze above the dial and nice mahogany bezel . The pine backboard is original to the clock
John Farnworth recorded as working onlyfrom 1791 to 1795 . Apart from this not alot is known about him .
