An early painted dial longcase clock by J.Joyce of Ruthin . The Joyce family is famous for making antique clocks for over 100 years . In later years they concerned on large clocks for public buildings and even provided a massive antique clock to shanghai early in the last century.
This attractive oak longcase clock is 8 day running and has a beautiful Osborne painted dial. Painted dials took over from brass dials in the later part of the 18th century and Osborne of Birmingham were one of the first companies.
The mainly oak case is in excellent condition and has its original finish .
The eight day running movement is in good condition and recently serviced .
