Jack Grimble – Solid Burr Elm Crib or Kindling Box

A lovely example of Jack Grimble’s work from the 1940s
He worked on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk and developed his style after careful study of medieval English antique furniture techniques, construction and materials.
He later set up a workshop in Cromer where he made furniture in the medieval manner with his son Jon. This beautiful crib is made from solid Burr Elm with hand azed boards which are peg jointed throughout.
Very heavy and solid, signed to base, of extremely high quality workmanship in the Arts and Crafts manner. The burred elm is beautifully figured and has developed a lovely warm colour and natural patina.
Perfect for its intended use or could be used as a kindling box or for books and magazines. Robust and structurally sound, no woodworm or damage or repairs.
Hand made by Jack Grimble - each piece he made was naturally unique - and it is great to find a fully signed example.
Approx dimensions are: 52cm wide, 35cm deep and 39cm high.
Approx weight 7kg
I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
