Ingram Bros Fusee Dial Wall Clock ex Somerset House


An Englsh fusee dial wall antique clock formerly from Somerset House, London. A walnut case with a cast brass bezel surround and convex glass. A 12" painted dial with blued steel hands and signed 'INGRAM BROS WOOD GREEN LONDON'. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism. The GVR VII marks to the dial for Kind Edward who died in 1910.
The labels on the inside door state the two rooms in Somerset House, London that it was in. Somerset House was bombed in WW11 and many items were taken into storage. Ingram Brothers worked at 34, Commerce Road in Wood Green and were suppliers to the British Government. The are noted in a 1918 Directory of manufacturers. A clock by the makers is in the Royal Collection.
