A Spectacular Arts & Crafts oak 'Compactum' cabinet chest by Heal's c.1905. Whilst this piece is not labelled, it is unmistakably the work of Ambrose Heal - Many of its key design notes are identical to other designs by Ambrose Heal, including the iconic 'Owl' cabinet, in the period 1902 to 1912. It is likely that this was either a special commission or an exhibition piece. Beautifully constructed in well-figured quarter sawn oak. The cabinet comprises a double door cupboard next to a short hanging compartment (with rail fitted), over two over one over two (full width drawers).

Condition: Sympathetically refinished.
