A well proportioned Kent Longcase antique clock. A good quality mahogany case with figuring to the trunk door and base. A decorative pediment surmounted by 3 original gilded wooden finials. Brass capped fluted hood columns. An attractive square painted dial with gilt corners and flowers. Seconds dial and date. A 30 hour mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

Edward Hayward of Ashford in Kent is recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1847-1874.
