Good small Regency mahogany sideboard 1820
This is a very sweet sideboard. The proportion are so compact that it could be used as a side table in a principal room or as a sideboard. The sideboard is Regency, dating to around 1820 - 1830. It is made in mahogany and is bow fronted. I love the neatness and crispness of antique furniture from this period. Just look at the details. The top is crossbanded in rosewood. The edges each have box wood stringing. This same detailing is given to the edges of each drawer. The drawers are made as you would expect with fine hand made dovetails. It has its original brass decorative drawer pulls and brass escutcheons.
The sideboard stands on tapering legs terminating in spade feet. Look at the beautiful angles cut in to the front legs. This is a very smart piece of period town antique furniture.
The condition is generally good. Minor marks as you would expect in a period piece.This sideboard will look good in a house furnished in antique furniture, especially in a Georgian setting.
The sideboard is 42 inches wide and 33.5 inches high and 23 inches deep.
