This is a good quality Victorian gilt frame in nice original condition with its original gilt finish dating from around 1870. The deep swept heavy frame has a laurel leaf gesso moulding and original inner gilt slip.
The frame is a useful size measuring 57 cms cms by 73 cms cms overall.
The aperture to the slip measures 50 cms by 34.2 cms
The opening at the back for the picture measures 51 cms by 36 cms.

It is possible to use this without the slip which creates a viewing aperture of 55 cms by 40 cms.
