A delightful and pretty Kigu 'Concerto' made in the 1960s. This powder box comes complete with the original presentation box, pouch, Kigu puff silk, sifter & instruction leaflet. The satinized Roman purple enamel lid has a gold tone leaf motif. Such a beautiful Kigu musical powder box without any enamel loss. The whole musical powder box is in very good condition, including the mirror which gives a perfect reflection. The interior all gilt jeweller's / jeweler's finish & signed 'KIGU' within the registered triangular trademark & 'Concerto'. Turn the key clockwise three times & the music plays really well. I think the tune is 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart.' The powder box has never contained powder. The presentation box is in good condition & signed 'KIGU OF LONDON'. Both the box & pouch are decorated with a stylish chequered pattern. Just adorable! The edges are scalloped & the base decorated with an engine turned design of spirals. The base is signed 'KIGU MADE IN ENGLAND'. This vintage vanity has been protected with a coat of lacquer & so it will never need to be cleaned.
This 1960s Kigu ' Concerto' measures 31/4" & weighs 115.8 grams.
