Georgian Reverse Glass Painted Silhouette. Burney

Impressive reverse glass painted silhouette of the Burney family in the style of Isaac Taylor III.
The silhouette is exceptionally highly detailed and of exceptional quality. It has a pleasing composition. The family is shown under swagged curtains in a faux oval frame within a painted, texturised mount. The silhouette is in it's original gilded and ebonised frame.
It shows Dr. Charles Burney (1726-1814), the English Composer and his family. His daughter, Fanny Burney, can be seen standing behind her mother's chair, knitting. Fanny Burney (1752-1840) was to become a famous novelist, and diarist. She was friendly with Dr. Johnson and Hester Thrale, and spent much of her life at the court of George III.
Reverse glass painted silhouettes are much sought after, as they cast pleasing shadows onto the backing card to produce a 3d effect.
