A fine Georgian plum-pudding figured mahogany fold-over tea table c1825. The table has a D-shaped plum-pudding figured mahogany top with line inlay and broad crossbanded border. Hinged top rotates to reveal an original baize-lined well and opens to reveal a superb plum-pudding figured mahogany interior with matching crossbanded border. The top sits above a frieze edged with fine gadrooned detailing. Raised on a well-figured tapered triangular column with canted corners, with moulded and gadrooned detail to junction with trefoil platform. Shaped trefoil base with turned roundels and original brass castors. The table retains its original finish throughout. Measures 76 cm in height. Closed table is 106 cm in width and 53 cm in depth. Top opening to 106 cm by 106 cm.
This tea table is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Excellent figured mahogany timbers. Table retaining its original finish. Minor historic knocks, marks and wear as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Please see images as these form an important part of the description. Further images available on request.
