A fine Georgian mahogany bureau, raised on traditional bracket feet.
The lower section is fitted with four oak-lined graduated drawers, each retaining decorative brass plate handles, combining practicality with period charm.
The fall-front opens to reveal a well-appointed fitted interior, comprising an arrangement of pigeon holes and small drawers, ideal for organising correspondence and writing implements.
An appealing feature of this piece is the central bank of five drawers, which withdraws as one complete section to reveal a concealed secret compartment—demonstrating the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the Georgian period.
