George V Silver Napkin Ring, Chester, 1913
This is an attractively decorated George V Sterling Silver Napkin Ring. The napkin ring was made by E.J. Trevitt & Sons and assayed in Chester in 1913. Trevitt & Sons were actually based in Augusta Street, Birmingham but chose to send much of their work to Chester to be assayed. They were in business for the first half of the 20th century from c.1901 to c.1948 and specialised in small, high quality personal items.
There is a nicely engraved ivy leaf design running right around the body of the napkin ring, which broadens into a blank cartouche at the front.
Condition is good with no dings or dents and only minimal wear, such as you would expect after over 100 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The napkin ring is 4.4cm in diameter and 1.8cm deep. It weighs 15.3g.
The hallmarks, which are in the middle of the leaf pattern, are well struck and clear to read. They are the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the sword and 3 wheatsheaves assay mark for Chester, the date letter "N" for 1913 and the T & S makers' mark for E.J. Trevitt & Sons.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
Overseas customers please ask us about shipping costs before making a purchase.
