A fine 19th century watercolour landscape by George Fripp, R.W.S., depicting a tranquil wooded river scene with cattle grazing in the distance and ducks on the water in the foreground. Signed and dated lower right George Fripp 1852. Presented in its original gilt moulded frame.

Fripp, a prominent member of the Old Water-Colour Society, was celebrated for his atmospheric landscapes and naturalistic treatment of light. This is a characteristic example of his mature style, combining delicate handling of foliage and water with a strong sense of depth and composition.
