George 1st bureau bookcase.
Double panel doors in quartered walnut, a molded cornice, the top fitted with drawers and Pidgeon holes, and shelves, the desk opens to reveal a stepped interior with drawers and pigeon holes and a well.
All original pulls and lockplates, standing on bun feet.
During WW 2 it belonged to the Mayoress of Exeter.
A wonderful piece of early walnut furniture I date about 1715.
