Fretwork Dial Carriage Clock, Starr New York
A quality French brass cased striking carriage clock of larger proportions. A concave silvered chapter ring dial with blued steel hands and central gilt filigree. A gilt fretted dial surround with birds and butterflies. A brass case with a fluted carrying handle. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Push button repeating. A lever escapement. An original carrying case with New York retailers Theodore B Starr. Circa 1900.
