French King Size 1930s Caned Bed

This is a very good large bed. It is a king size taking a mattress up to 62 inches wide and up to 80 inches long.
The bed is French and I would imagine dates to around 1910 - 1930. The bed originally was a caned bergere and has been updated to have an edged upholstery with a satin motif to the head and footboard. This makes it look much fresher and more in keeping with modern taste.
The bed is fantastic quality. Look at the curves to the footboard. Look at the reeded frame with carved ribbon detailing. Look at the carved crests to both foot and headboard. The bed stands on tapering reeded legs with paterae above. The apron too is carved with shaped walnut side rails.
The bed locks together with original long French screws and is solid when built. Two planks on wheels slot in to the side rails and this lifts the whole bed up on wheels. You will need to get slats to run over these to form a base for your mattress. These slats are readily available from any builders merchants at little money.
The bed is in good condition. Minor marks to upholstery - see photo and a little rippling in the cloth.
This is a large impressive bed but at the same time very elegant.
The headboard is 53 inches high and the footboard is 37 inches high.
The bed takes a King size mattress up to 62 inches wide and 80 inches long.
The bed splits for moving.
