Having a commanding presence with its large figure which is then wonderfully complimented by the intricate delicacy of its original decorative handles and escutcheons. Crafted from a superb chestnut wood and elegantly constructed to form a timeless piece that is both practical and beautiful wherever it is placed.
c 1820 Georgian period - Sourced from France.
Excellent solid frame and a quality solid chestnut construction.
(Perfect for everyday use and ready for another lifetime of use.)
Includes 1 original iron key.
Both locks working.
Internally there is 4 shelves, these are provided in 2 pieces each.
(the solid wood shelves have wear and age to the wood, which is to be expected and as a result has caused some warping / un-levelling in areas to occur. Although the shelves are still fully usable we would be happy to provide 4 new shelves if you required, however these would not hold the same age or look as its original ones.)

This piece overall is in beautiful condition for its age, having been sympathetically polished in order to retain as much of the natural wear and age related imperfections you may expect with an item of such significant age. This is a period piece so wear / imperfections in it should be expected, these in our opinion in no way detract from its character or appeal, and only enhance its beauty and authenticate its age.
As with most older pieces of French antique furniture there are signs of OLD wood worm present from many years ago.
These look to have been treated and eradicated. As a precautionary measure we have carried out a two part treatment on all areas.
Size Approx: Base: 155cm w x 53cm d x 98cm h
Top: 152cm w x 36cm d x 137cm h
Overall height approx 235cm

We believe this only adds to both the beauty and character, creating an individual yet authentic piece that cannot be replicated.
This is not a new item and therefore it should be expected to contain some subtle knocks in the wood, signs of age and use (or patina).
