French Empire burr walnut desk
Very elegant and generously proportioned French 19th century burr walnut and brass mounted Empire style bureau plat desk or could also work well as a dressing table too. The desk is finished on all sides, so it can be freestanding like a partners desk.
The burr walnut is a fabulous pale colour tone and with the brass mounts it's a great decorative piece of antique furniture, but if you are looking for a practical home office desk, this gives ample space and good drawer storage.
The top leather is in good condition with some age related marks and finished with a gilt tooled edging, but can be replaced if you would rather a different colour for example.
Measuring:
29 1/4 inches or 74.5 cm high
55 inches or 140 cm wide
29 1/2 inches or 75 cm deep
23 inches or 58.5 cm kneehole height Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
