Tapestry Foot Stool - Large Size - c1870

This lovely Victorian period stool is a charming example and a useful size.

The stool displays a pleasing shape and is good for use as a footstool or a low stool to sit upon.
The upper is covered with a quality needlepoint tapestry textile depicting an exotic bird central motif and floral detailing. The tapestry fabric benefits from considerable age and displays well. The piece has been very nicely upholstered with velvet side panels with twist rope upper trim and matching lower brocade. The tapestry is in good order with very light signs of age as expected but certainly nothing that detracts from the quality of the piece.

The stool stand upon attractively shaped legs.

Overall a lovely footstool and piece of antique furniture which is both functional and looks gorgeous.
