Victorian Screen - Quality Images - c1860
A rather charming example of a Victorian screen with a whole scene played out across the four panels.

A quality four-panel frame opens to reveal a textile displaying a lady and child, traveller and a splendid range of animals and plant life. There is so much detail that it takes several minutes to actually notice all the elements shown.

The screen is in good antique order to the front and the velvet covering at the rear has a couple of tears as depicted in the images below. Replacing the rear cover presents no real challenge.

Overall a lovely display item and most unusual with a whole scene.
