A fine quality Victorian burr walnut bookcase in the manner of Holland & Sons. The moulded cornice above a decorative fluted frieze, the applied and fluted pilasters having carved acanthus leaf corbels flanking the 2 glazed doors. The doors open to a faded red velvet lined interior with 2 adjustable shelves. The base section having two banks of three drawers with applied mouldings and well turned and carved pulls above the twin cupboard doors which have wonderful burr walnut fielded panels. The stiles with conforming fluted pilasters and the whole standing on a plinth base. This superb bookcase is complete with good quality brass V.R. stamped working locks with keys and is mahogany lined throughout. Fully cleaned and burnished in our own workshops.
