Fine Maple and Co opulent mahogany dressing table
his is a top quality Edwardian dressing table made around 1910. It is incredibly opulent and will look wonderful in a bedroom furnished in antique and vintage antique furniture.
The dressing table is made in satin mahogany. I suspect it was made by Maple and Co. Maple and Co made incredibly good quality antique furniture, especially in the Edwardian period.They didn't always label up each piece of bedroom antique furniture and there is no makers mark on this dressing table but aside the elegant design and incredible quality in the choice of wood and build, this dressing table has the shaped shield mirror that they used in many dressing table designs of the period so I have no doubt it was made by them.
Just look at those wonderfully bowed drawers and the thick boxwood banding. The satin mahogany glows with opulence. The mirror has a fretwork apron and the dressing table stands on tapering legs terminating in original brass casters.
The dressing table is in good antique condition. Two handles are replacements - see photos and there is a minor break in the fretwork.
This dressing table glows with quality. It is a joy.
The dressing table is 48 inches wide and 23 inches deep and 29 inches high with the
mirror and small drawer section adding 37 inches (66 inches high in total.)
