A rare and original pair of English Regency black lacquered arm chairs with original gilding and hand painted decoration. The top rails with painted grapes and vine leaves, the centre pierced rails having painted putti with a dove and foliage. The lower 3 bar rail with gilded leaves. The open swept arms supported on ribbon painted turnings with further decoration below. This rare pair of elbow chairs are in original condition with very little wear to the arms, the seats have been re-caned but there are no breaks or repairs to either chair. Dimensions:- Height…32.75’’/ 83.5cm. Width…21.75’’/ 55.5cm. Depth…21’’/ 53.5cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £55. Circa 1810
