Extremely rare OLFA of PARIS compact vintage powder compacts lipsticks butterfly gifts for her
This compact is suitable for use with modern face powders.
An extremely rare Olfa vintage powder compact made in France c. 1940. I have only ever seen this one & this brand is sought-after. The lid is enchanting - engraved on it are four butterflies flying over a pond with bulrushes. Superbly well made & obviously a vanity from a luxury brand the lid opens to reveal a bevelled mirror, a lipstick holder & inner inner lid engraved with an intricate guilloche design. The mirror gives an accurate reflection & has some age related haze which in no way detracts from the appeal of this one of a kind vanity. The inner lid is gilded & the high quality sifter too. The base has such a gorgeous Art Deco design of vertical wavy lines. All clasps & hinges work perfectly.
This rare vintage compact measures 8.5 cm X 7.3 cm & weighs 154.8 grams.(gauze) is gilded too. The sifter is in such good condition this compact rouge could still be used today with loose powder. There is also a compartment for your lipstick
