Exceptional Antique Welsh LoveSpoon Love Spoon
A rare and important Edwardian Welsh Love Spoon of highly sought after large flat back type, now an incredible 120 years old, it displays some gorgeous traditional symbols as found in the very best antique love spoons. Carved from a single piece of fruitwood this is a truly special example.
The cross at the very top symbolising the want to be united together and united with god. Displaying pierced and carved hearts - the international symbol of love, and comma or soul motifs. The anchor is a symbol of security through rough times (and can also be associated with being gifted by a young man with a maritime connection). With stunning original finish which has aged beautifully. A very special spoon in every aspect.
