Exceptional 18thC Welsh Oak Blanket Chest Coffer
A beautiful and rare little 18thC Welsh Oak Coffor or Blanket Chest of stunning quality, purchased from a large farmhouse in central Pembrokeshire.
In outstanding condition with incredible depth of colour and patina. Retaining original blacksmith made hinges and standing on the most amazing shaped apron with integral bracket feet, just one of which has a small historic repair. The front splendidly carved with the Initials W W. The beauty of this piece lies in its perfect proportions and carefully selected timber with amazing grain and stunning medullary rays, all combining to make the most gorgeous looking of pieces with presence far beyond its size.
