A simple early 19th C. French 'bois durci' snuffbox with lift up lid to the snuff compartment. The reverse side housing a discrete sliding lid reveals a well painted and extremely frank erotic scene. Though there have been many copies and forgeries over the years I can personally guarantee the originality of this item.
