English Fusee Bracket Clock
A fine quality English twin fusee bracket antique clock. A mahogany case with banded inlay. Arched brass side sound fretted panels. Ogee cast brass bracket feet. A cast brass bezel with convex glass. A convex painted dial with arrow blued steel hands. A double fusee mechanism with 5 pillars striking the hours on a gong. An engraved backplate signed 'Haley & Milner, London' as on dial. A strike/silent lever to the arch.
Samuel Haley is described in Brittens' 'Old Clocks and Watches And Their Makers' book as being 'A celebrated maker and an Honorary Freeman of the Clockmakers Company'. The partnership with Milner was from 1800-1815 at Wigmore Street.
