Eighteenth Century Oak Fold Over Tea Side Table
This is a very elegant period fold over table or side table. It is made in oak and dates to around 1750, towards the end of the reign of George II.
The table has very attractive legs, standing on pad feet, almost straight with a shaped 'sleeve' at the top. This style of leg came in around 1715. The table has a central drawer with attractive brass drawer handle and escutcheon. Above, the table top is nicely shaped and it is true with no warp at the lip.
The back leg swings put and the top can be folded over to create a table top. The hinges are original and in good order.
The table is in good order. The colour is good. No sign of worm. The detail at the top of the back legs are missing - see last photo.
This is a very attractive period table. It will look good in a hallway or as a side or lamp table in a period setting. It has neat small proportions and is very elegant.
The table is 32 inches wide and 16 inches deep and 29 inches high.
