Edwards & Roberts Chippendale Style Writing Desk
Superb quality mahogany writing desk by the celebrated English cabinet Edwards & Roberts c.1910. Raised top featuring two small cupboards and open niches over a work space with lovely tooled leather skiver. Seven drawers arranged around a central kneehole and raised on fabulous cluster column legs and block feet front and rear. Extensive Chippendale style carved decoration to the door and drawer fronts, crisp pierced fretwork gallery continued above the niches and as bracket either side of the kneehole and beside the legs at the front and rear. Original brass handles, mahogany drawer linings and unusual horizontal side panel. With a clear maker’s stamp on the top edge of the centre drawer front. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
