Here is a superb quality and rare antique Edwardian three-piece curved mahogany bergere cane suite, circa 1910, in excellent condition.

Here is a superb quality and rare antique Edwardian three-piece curved mahogany bergere cane suite, circa 1910, in excellent condition. Having a shaped wrap-around design to the suite makes this a superb quality example and superior in design and quality compared to the standard rectangular design of bergere suite that you see in the market place today.
The suite comprises of two armchairs and a two-seat couch. The shaped wrap-around suite is constructed of top quality solid mahogany, which features interspersed floral carvings along the breadth of the frame. The suite features the original double panel cane-work to the sides of the arms and single panel cane work to the back. Double panel cane suites are better quality than suites that just feature single cane wall throughout. This suite boasts a lovely curved shape on the frame from the back into the down swept carved floral arms. The base of the suite descends onto a carved floral frieze above tapered reeded legs that terminate on flat spate feet at the front, with sabre legs to the rear.
The suite has been newly upholstered in a top quality hardwearing wool and cotton damask fabric finished with matching piping. The cushion covers feature zips so that the top layers can be removed if they need to be cleaned.
The suite features a firm sprung base below, which makes the suite extremely comfortable. The suite seats up to four people comfortably. This is a very comfortable suite due to the deep design of the frame.
