An Interesting & Early Wall Bracket, having a burr oak top carved with egg & tongue, mounted on a walnut foliate & scroll framed bracket carved with a marvellously expressive head of a youth in the style of a misericor, circa 1680. We believe the burr oak shelf to be earlier than the carved head, although both have obviously been together for a very long time & acquired the same gorgeous crusty patina.
