Early Georgian 11.5in Brass Dial Oak Longcase

George II - Early Georgian Lawrie of Carlisle Oak Longcase Clock.
There are 4 possible members of the Lawrie Family who could have made this antique clock – all working around the same time – from 1740 - they were all dead by 1773.
Upon exploring Brian Loomes, I would suggest that it is most likely to be Archibald Lawrie (II) b.1713, son of Archibald (I) of Edinburgh, apprentice to William Bowie of Canongate, Edinburgh in 1731, before moving to Carlisle c 1740 eventually dying in 1773. He was joined in the family business by his two sons, James & John, who died in the 1760s and 1770 respectively.
The 8 Day Twin Weight Striking movement has been Checked and Oiled – In Full Working Condition.
