Early 20th Century mahogany inlaid desk, the top having a shelf flanked either side by concave hinged stationary compartments beautifully inlaid with scrolling flowers and urns, each with a drawer, one fitted with a pair of inkwells, the other with a pen tray, the shelf and the compartments having a brass gallery running along the top, with a tooled leather writing surface on the shaped desk top which has satinwood banding, the desk having a combination of seven drawers with solid drawer linings and original brass oval plate handles, the drawer fronts profusely inlaid with floral decoration in various exotic woods, standing on square tapering legs with spade feet terminating with brass castors. Circa 1910.
