So much storage...
An early 19th century housekeepers cupboard.
It has 2 top panelled doors enclosing 3 pine shelves, The shelves had been protected with sticky back plastic which we have removed to show the lovely pine. The interior sides and back have at some time been painted white.
The base has an arrangement of six short drawers, a long drawer and a central cupboard enclosing 3 shelves and a small drawer for cutlery? This all sits on 4 heavy brass casters.
We have cleaned it inside and out. The exterior has been waxed and polished.
Condition...
Considering it's age and use it is not really in a bad state of repair. It has some knock and bangs which are to be expected. The have been some repairs here and there but it is altogether a very solid piece.There are some pieces of veneer missing from the sides back edge, some repairs. A very old split down the right hand side of the base. The drawers are oak with front os mahogany veneered pine.
