We are pleased to offer for sale one of a pair of watercolours by the Italian artist D. Deprosperi, who has signed the painting in the lower left hand corner and entitled it 'Venezia'. The painting depicts a canal in the Dorsoduro sestiere or quarter of Venice, with the campanile or bell tower of the Church of San Trovaso towering over the buildings along the canal. There is a covered gondola on the canal.

Although this is a very finely detailed work, we have thus far been unable to discover any biographical information about the artist, although our reference books cover British artists, the only Continental ones listed worked in Britain.

The painting is mounted with wash lines and framed in a simple 1/2" gilt frame. It is ready to hang.
