Circa 1850, unusual chunky country made plank stool, made from one piece of elm. The top has a lovely colour and patination, and underneath is evidence of where it has been roughly cut from the tree. The stool stands on 4 primitive faceted legs which are doweled into the underside of the stool. Although the piece is probably Victorian the log itself is probably 200+ years old.
