Circa 1860, Victorian carved giltwood side table in the manner of Thomas Chippendale or Francis Brody. The shaped top is in red velour, and leads on to a carved and gilded heron with wings spread, standing amongst bulrushes, and finishing on a rocky base. There are drawings of similar antique tables found in Chippendale’s directory, and also designs supplied to Dumfries House by Francis Brody.
