Charles I Wainscot Chair
A fine example of an Wainscot Chair, richly carved in beautiful English Oak.
The piece has a rectangular back that features a rail of linked Arab save scrolls, above panel depicting a knot. Other carvings include stylised roses and honeysuckle and, for the period, this level of intricate carving would have been considered exceptionally ornate.
In sublime antique condition with exquisite patina.
Period: Charles I (Early 17th Century, 1600-1649)
