This compact is suitable for use with modern pressed face powder or as a handbag mirror.
An unused Van Cleef & Arples compact in superb condition, designed for Revlon in the 1970s. The compact comes with the original case & even the box too. All the original accessories - puff & full powder plate are present too. As you would expect the compact is superbly well made. The exterior of the compact (lid & base) are vermeil - 18K gold on sterling silver. The most exquisite design in yellow, white & rose gold. The thumb catch giving the compact the look of a fob. The cardboard box that houses the case has the original label which states 'ULTIMA II Vermeil Compact 18K Gold on Sterling Silver Translucent Pressed Powder NET. WT. 33 0Z. REVLON , INC., N.Y. 10022 MADE IN U.S.A.' The original protective carry case exterior is clad in orange velvet & so is the interior base too. The interior lid is orange silk with gilt lettering - 'ULTIMA II Case Designed by Van Cleef & Arples'. The compact comes with the original luxurious puff signed 'Ultima' on the foil & a full pan of Ultima face powder with the original plastic protective cover. The base still has the original sticker on it which states 'ULTIMA II TRANSLUCENT PRESSED POWDER REVLON N.Y. 10022....' The interior case is metal.
