Oriental carved and laquered two fold screen. This beautiful screen comprises of two panels, each richly decorated with carved birds, branches, foliage etc in relief on a black ground with dark green painted border, the back of each panel is decorated with trees etc, painted in black on a dark red ground. The frame itself is intricately carved with inlaid birds. Some old repairs and we think the green surround may have originally been a dark red like the reverse (it could be restored) but none of this detracts from the beauty of the screen itself, it really is stunning and the photos do not do it justice.
