A handsome and beautifully carved antique late Victorian mahogany open armchair or desk chair dating from circa 1895. A really good quality chair standing on elegantly curved cabriole legs with serpentine seat rail. With acanthus leaf carved shepherd’s crook arms and profusely carved and pieced back splat in beautifully figured mahogany with good warm colour and patina. The seat has been newly reupholstered in a quality purple fabric. Comfortable and sturdy, would make a wonderful desk chair or dressing table chair.

Very good condition. Frame solid and sturdy. Good colour and patina. Newly recovered. Wear and marks commensurate with age.
